NFPA Code 92A, 80, and 105 states that all fire and smoke dampers must be inspected every four years in commercial buildings and every six years in hospitals. In addition, Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) reminds all property owners whose buildings are equipped with fire, smoke and combination fire/smoke dampers to comply with NFPA codes, and The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations requires that all healthcare facilities are in compliance with these regulations as well.
